:- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Lorie -- Another great read in the Shadowseers series : This book starts off with Kaia meeting her twin, Em and Inspector Pinsley reconnecting with his daughter, Olivia. The Surete are convinced that Kaia and the Inspector came to Paris to spy and want to question them and implicate them in a murder case. In both instances when they tell of the problem staying in Paris and the proposed trip to Munich both girls decide to come along. Kaia sister Em was adopted as a baby by the Paris ambassador and his wife. Being in the ambassagorial carriage when the Surete catches up to them, enables them to escape Paris. Dark fantasy combines mystery in a fast paced story full of twists and turns, and characters that rise to new heights as they fight an epic battle against darkness and beings that want to take all the light from the world. The ending is shocking and leaves you wanting more ( Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2021 )
