There’s not a pretentious line or twee ingredient in the entire book. It’s for real people who like great food every day of the week and don’t want to spend hours making it. I have enjoyed Jenny's Dinner a Love Story blog and books for over a decade, and long before I had children of my own. I am now a mom of two young daughters and we are slowly emerging out of the picky eater phase, eating only chicken nuggets/pizza/pasta for dinner. Each recipe seems pretty oil-heavy as well; I did not need 3 T of oil to crisp up 15 oz. of tofu. It's clear the author lives in a large urban center; some of her ingredients are not available in my small midwest town, but I have found acceptable substitutes. I don't buy all that many anymore with all the digital recipes that I save, but I'm so glad I bought this one. We are primarily vegetarian already but I needed some inspiration for accessible weekday meals for the family to freshen up the rotation, and she doesn't disappoint. I love that she acknowledges that much of her audience is cooking dinner before having time to take off their coats, so everything is presented in a way that's very manageable and doesn't require too much time or too many crazy ingredients. We've already loved the wheatberry bowl, the summer farrotto, and the spicy chickpeas, and we have the butternut soup on deck for later this week. My kids have gobbled everything up, and they've had fun paging through and checking out the illustrations. I've just loved having a cookbook back on the cookbook stand in the kitchen along with the motivation and enthusiasm to try new recipes! ( Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2021 )

And now, she has done it again, with this incredible cookbook. I have made more than 20 recipe from the book ("our favorite kale salad" truly is a favorite for us now!) and it has made me think about eating and cooking in a whole new way. The only recipe that didn't quite work for me was the spinach artichoke dip pizza - but SO many of Jenny's pizza recipes are family favorites from all of her books.
